The story
A small apartment
designed to feel complete
Laguna Beach Residence is a compact one-bedroom apartment in Dominicus, just a short walk from the Caribbean Sea. The limited footprint became one of the main starting points for the project.
Every part of the apartment needed to work intelligently while still feeling comfortable, warm and visually complete. The result is a home with a proper living area, dining space, fully equipped kitchen, separate king-size bedroom, generous storage, practical bathroom, laundry facilities and outdoor space, all within a compact footprint.
The project uses the limited footprint as a design argument: good design is defined not by square metres, but by how intelligently those square metres work.
The design direction
Warm Caribbean
minimalism
Warm timber, soft neutrals and natural textures form the base of the interior, with deeper accents of chocolate brown, black and tropical green adding contrast. The Caribbean character comes through light, greenery and organic materials rather than obvious coastal decoration.
Because the apartment is compact, visual calm matters: materials repeat across zones, furniture is selected to support circulation and decorative elements are controlled. The result feels relaxed and tropical, but still contemporary, refined and complete.
Living & dining
One connected
composition
A generous sectional sofa creates a comfortable place to relax, while the dining table sits close to natural light and greenery. Warm wood, soft upholstery and botanical accents add depth without making the compact interior feel heavy.
Each function remains clear, but the whole open-plan area feels visually connected, allowing the apartment to read as a complete home rather than a collection of small zones.
Kitchen & everyday comfort
A turnkey home needs
more than furniture
The kitchen was prepared as a genuinely usable part of the apartment, with appliances, equipment and everyday essentials required from the first day.
The bathroom and laundry area follow the same principle, with a washing machine, dedicated storage, dispensers and practical accessories. These elements may be less visually dominant, but they are essential to the way a finished home actually works.
Bedroom & storage
Compact size,
full-size comfort
Despite the compact footprint, the bedroom was designed around a full king-size bed. Warm timber furniture and soft neutral textiles create a calm private space, while storage was treated as equally important.
A large floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobe extending across the wall provides substantial concealed capacity, supported by a chest of drawers. The result is a small bedroom that still feels complete, comfortable and practical for longer stays.
